Moving it around can be done by gentle paddle or propeller mixing to distribute it evenly. When not in use, always keep the container tight. Do not freeze.

Product Type Levels of Usage:

Target pH: BRB 1018 is stable between pH 5.0 and 8.0. In the case of hair products, maintain the pH of the final formula between 5.5 and 6.5. In the case of skin products, maintain an average between 5.0 and 6.0. Lower pH with citric acid as necessary.

Formulation Build Order:

1. Mix and heat your water phase to 70 to 75 degrees Celsius. Add other items in the water phase, as customary.
2. Stir your oil phase between 65 and 70 degrees Celsius when necessary according to the formula.
3. Blend phases and emulsify according to your typical emulsification system.
4. Allow the batch to cool off, stirring gently.
5. When the batch is cooled to a temperature of less than 40 to 45 degrees Celsius, slowly add BRB 1018 and continuously stir gently.
6. When cationic conditioning polymers (like guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride or polyquaternium-10) are used, add those at this point, too.
7. Alter the viscosity with sodium chloride solution when necessary.
8. Use citric acid to adjust pH.
9. Add fragrance, preservatives, and any other actives that are sensitive to heat at room temperature.
10. Blend until all is even.
